     Charlotte Hot Springs Resort is named after Charlotte Vickerson Merrifield and the resort that bears her name attempts to capture and share the pleasures of the Colorado mountains that Charlotte experienced growing up in the area as the daughter of an early-day miner and a hard-working, ever-cheerful mother. Charlotte grew up in the Buena Vista & St. Elmo boom town areas during the second mining boom from 1910 to 1919. The land on which Charlotte Hot Springs is being built has been in the Merrifield family for three generations. The Merrifields  goal is to create an all-inclusive mountain resort get-away. Secluded from the commercialism of the over-populated Colorado ski resorts , yet centrally located in the heart of all Colorado's Rocky Mountains have to offer; Charlotte Hot Springs is being designed to provide a stress-relieving and health promoting mountain hideaway, that preserves the area's small mountain town friendliness and scenic beauty.
